The St. Joe Community Foundation has donated $50,000 to the Gulf Coast State Foundation's Hurricane Michael Relief Fund helping students in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. These funds will be used to establish a textbook assistance program to replace damage books or purchase new ones.
"Education is an important focus of The St. Joe Community Foundation," said April Wilkes, Executive Director of the St. Joe Community Foundation. "We are pleased to provide grants to assist with purchasing books for students at Gulf Coast State College who have been affected by Hurricane Michael, helping them return to classes and continue to pursue their educational goals."
To date, over 1,500 students and nearly 400 employees have benefited from the campaign.
