Foundation Receives Grant from Edward K. Roberts Community College Fund

The Gulf Coast State College Foundation received a $40,000 grant from the Edward K. Roberts Community College Fund given by Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The grant is to be used for financial assistance to Gulf Coast State College students who may not qualify for other financial aid; for tuition, board, books, childcare, etc. The grant is to help students during the summer 2019 or fall 2019 semesters.
"Through the Roberts Fund and our generous legacy donor, our Foundation has the honor of supporting numerous state and community colleges throughout Florida that provide access for students of all ages to higher and continuing education in their communities." noted Mischa Kirby, Vice President of Strategic Communications and Marketing.
Since 2011, The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has donated a total of $300,000 to the Foundation through the Edward K. Roberts Fund. The Fund has awarded over 250 grants to students attending Gulf Coast State College.
