Panama City, Fla. — The Gulf Coast State College Foundation proudly announces a $20,000 gift from Mr. Kenneth L. Ayers, Jr. to establish the Kenneth L. Ayers, Jr. Scholarship, an endowed fund supporting students pursuing STEM-related fields of study.
Mr. Ayers, a retired United States Air Force Major and current City of Callaway Commissioner, has dedicated his career to public service and community leadership. His generous gift reflects a lifelong commitment to education, service, and creating opportunity for future generations.
“Gulf Coast State College is vital for our community in so many ways, including training nurses, dental technicians, computer specialists, and providing the foundations of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics,” said Ayers. “It’s my honor to give back to the citizens of Callaway and the veterans of Bay County through this endowed scholarship.”
The endowed scholarship will provide long-term support for students pursuing STEM degrees, with priority given to residents of Callaway and military veterans. By establishing an endowment, Mr. Ayers’ gift will continue to generate scholarships in perpetuity, ensuring a lasting impact on students and the region.
“Today, we are proud to recognize Mr. Ken Ayers for his extraordinary generosity and lifelong commitment to public service,” said Ashlin Glatthar, Executive Director of the Gulf Coast State College Foundation. “Mr. Ayers exemplifies what it means to be a steward of both community and opportunity.”
The Gulf Coast State College Foundation expressed sincere gratitude for Mr. Ayers’ leadership, generosity, and continued investment in the future of students and the greater community.
