GCSC Foundation Receives Gift for Gulf Coast Guarantee Program

Published on December 19, 2024

Panama City, FL – The Gulf Coast State College Foundation is excited to announce that they have received a donation from the Alfred I. duPont Foundation in the amount of $90,000 for the Gulf Coast Guarantee scholarship fund. The gift will support the Gulf Coast Guarantee’s mission of assisting high school students graduating from the College’s service district with their tuition and fees with the hope of allowing more students from Bay, Gulf, and Franklin Counties the opportunity of education.

The Gulf Coast Guarantee is unlike any other in the state of Florida, and among only four other scholarships like it across the nation. It is responsible for an increase in full-time freshmen enrollment at GCSC and has been awarded to over 1,000 students in just the first three years.

The relationship between Alfred I. duPont Foundation and Gulf Coast State College Foundation is based on the premise of their missions to improve the welfare of the students attending Gulf Coast State College. The duPont Foundation’s support through the years has provided many student scholarships and has been a source of encouragement to the Gulf Coast State College Foundation.
