Endowment

An endowment can change the life of an individual, and in doing so, can change the life of a family. As a donor you can provide lifelong support by creating a scholarship or program endowment today. An endowment stays with the Foundation in perpetuity because the principal stays intact. Only the earnings created by principal can be spent.

An individual, family, group, or business may contribute directly to an endowment anytime. Endowments do require written agreements. This ensures that the donor’s intent is carried out fully in the years to come. All agreements are signed by the Donor, the Foundation’s President and Executive Director.

Endowed scholarships require a $20,000 contribution. The Foundation would prefer a lump sum payment in all situations; however, a pledge program with a maximum period of three (3) years may be created if approved. Donors are able to customize their endowments by selecting the qualifications for the recipients, the selection method for the recipient, and preferences for major, residency, or affiliation. Please take a look at our current scholarship endowments.

Endowed programs do not have a minimum requirement; however, in order to get the biggest benefit the Foundation encourages a minimum contribution of $100,000. The Foundation would prefer a lump sum payment in all situations; however, a customized pledge with a maximum period of three (3) years may be created if approved. Some examples of the program endowments currently held at the Foundation are the Honors Plaza Technology Endowment; the Helen M. Jenkins Endowment; the Tapper Governmental Seminar Endowment; the C.A. Haulman Library Endowment and the Sandra Ethridge Honors Program Endowment.
